There are no groups running at the moment due to COVID-19 restrictions. Below is the information about what has been on offer. If you would like to keep in touch with us regarding childrens activities please ask to join our private St Thomas' Children and Youth Facebook page.
Many children do not understand church. It can seem a very different, challenging and alien experience when they come into a service on a Sunday morning and have no explanation of what we are doing or why. Our programmes hopefully walk our children through this gaining understanding beginning with RockStars and Kizchurch, then progressing to Cafe church/main church whilst all the time continuing to grow in Christ, through baptism and becoming an active member of our church family.
Rock Stars is a weekly children's group, for children in school years Reception to Year 6. The children are involved in a wide range of activities including crafts, games and DVDs which centre around a different Bible story each week. This encourages the children to deepen their relationship with God.
Light refreshments are also provided. There is no charge for this group which takes place from 4 - 5.30 pm every Thursday during term time.
Every Wednesday from 4 - 5pm during term time children meet in the church to have their own church service. This included songs, confession, a mini sermon and prayer. It is just long enough for children to cope with and children can feel comfortable worshipping in their own way whilst learning more about God.
Children are also able to sit down together as a family and enjoy a meal at the end of the service.
This is an informal Sunday morning service of worship to which all are welcome. Everyone learns in a different way and some people may not yet understand a more traditional service. There is opportunity to ask questions about things you may not understand, to work more interactively as well as build up relationships with people around you. We share confession, sing songs of worship as well as pray. Every other week we join the main church congregation for Holy Communion.
